Turf Tuff Gold

Turf Tuff Gold (0-1-12)
with 2% Silica and Chelated Minors

Turf Tuff Gold is a supplemental potassium fertilizer enhanced with plant available silica and chelated minors.

Potassium: Turf Tuff Gold is derived from potassium acetate which has been documented to have significantly higher absorption rates than most other forms of potassium. Potassium helps manage water relations and is critical for proper stomata operation. Stress resistance and hardening off of the turf are enhanced by sufficient K+ levels. In warm season turfgrasses, potassium is critical for cold weather tolerance.

Silica: Grasses are luxury consumers of silica. When given a plant-available form of silica, grasses take the silica up through the root system and deposit the silica in plant tissue. Enhanced tissue silica levels increase physical hardening of the turf, enhanced stress resistance, and improved water relations / drought resistance.

Thus, the combination of plant available silica with potassium is an excellent tool for toughening turfgrass and enhancing turfgrass quality even under conditions of environemntal stress and heavy traffic.

For maintenance use:
6 - 12 oz. / 1,000 ft2 every 7 to 14 days

For deficiency rate use:
9 - 15 oz. / 1,000 ft2 every 7 days

These charts show the tissue test result three days after application of potassium acetate and potassium thiosulfate. With the acetate form, 47% of applied K+ ended up in the leaf tissue. With the thiosulfate form, only 7% of applied K+ ended up in the leaf tissue.
